Software Engineer (Kotlin / Android)

About the role
DAERO is looking for a Software Engineer to own the entire product development lifecycle for our Android App—from system design and UI architecture to backend integration.
You’ll drive A/B testing, ensure high reliability across devices (especially lower-end ones), and help shape long-term scalability through strong system design.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain scalable Android systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Gradle.
- Implement A/B testing, unit tests, and performance checks for all types of Android devices, especially lower-end ones.
- Collaborate on backend APIs, microservices, and integration workflows.
- Participate in system design discussions to ensure long-term scalability.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- You love Kotlin/Android app development and have stood up several apps before.
- Deep understanding of Jetpack Compose, Gradle, and Android performance tooling.
- Strong foundation in system design and API integration.
- Experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD.
- Exposure to AWS and Supabase preferred.
Compensation disclosure:
DAERO welcomes candidates across a wide range of experience levels and skill sets. We hire first for character, craft, and impact; then align scope, title, and compensation accordingly. The US base salary range for this full-time role is $130,000-$240,000 + equity + benefits. Offers are location-adjusted, and may differ from the US benchmark depending on where you live, in addition to your skills and experience.
